<p>The position of Park Laborer III is a part-time, summer, non-exempt position. Under the supervision of the Foreman, Park Laborer III is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of park grounds, turf, ball fields, buildings and special use facilities.  </p>
<p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p>
<p>* Perform park maintenance including but not limited to general carpentry, roofing, vehicle fluid checks, fence repair, sign installation, graffiti removal, litter pick-up and garbage removal<br />
* Perform horticulture maintenance including but not limited to weeding, raking, mulching, mowing, weed whipping, planting, pruning, watering and flower bed maintenance<br />
* Execute athletic field maintenance including but not limited to dragging infields, setting bases, lining ball fields, securing and relocating various goals<br />
* Perform facility maintenance including but not limited to setups and takedowns; cleaning and restocking restrooms; disposing of trash and emptying garbage cans; wiping down tables and chairs; cleaning windows; sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors; cleaning picnic shelters, grills and fire pits; and painting<br />
* Open and/or lock park facilities and gates; as directed<br />
* Ability to successfully and safely operate equipment required to complete assigned tasks including but not limited to weed whips, small mowers, backpack blowers and hand tools<br />
* Ability to safely and within legal guidelines, operate vehicles to and from daily assigned work sites<br />
* Perform maintenance of playground areas<br />
* Ability to work from oral and written directives<br />
* Thoroughly and accurately complete all work orders, safety inspection checklists and daily activity logs<br />
* Adhere to and enforce all Park District personnel and administrative policies, procedures and ordinances<br />
* Demonstrate and support Park District customer service standards<br />

<p>We are seeking an experienced and dependable Commercial Trade Specialist � HVAC II Technician. To perform skilled work in the inspection, maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and plumbing systems. This position assists with preventative maintenance programs and responds to emergency service calls to ensure the safe and efficient operation of facility mechanical and plumbing systems.</p>
<p>**JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**  </p>
<p>* Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC equipment including rooftop units, air handlers, chillers, condensers, and ventilation systems.<br />
* Assist with preventative maintenance inspections and servicing of HVAC and plumbing systems.<br />
* Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs on HVAC and related plumbing components such as pipes, valves, pumps, and fixtures.<br />
* Support installation, replacement, and upgrades of HVAC and plumbing systems in commercial facilities.<br />
* Respond to emergency maintenance calls and perform urgent repairs to minimize operational disruptions.<br />
* Maintain work orders, service reports, and preventative maintenance documentation.<br />
* Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.<br />
* Collaborate with other maintenance and trade personnel on facility projects and repairs.</p>

Ensures that such construction, additions and alterations present no threat to the safety, health and general well-being of the public throughout unincorporated properties, suburbs, forest preserve, townships and villages. Provides information to the public regarding building, zoning and signage ordinances. Communicates codes and ordinances with the general public, construction trades and on-site contractors through personal, electronic communication and telephone. Performs plan reviews, office/permit processing and attends other meetings as required. Issues citations when violations occur and provides testimony to the Office of the State&#8217;s Attorney upon request. Performs other duties as assigned. **Minimum Qualifications*** Possession of a High School Diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certification **is required.**</p>
